With a very large amount of Overseas Visitors travelling to Japan, and a great percentage of them, then experiencing the Onsen Hot Springs of Hakone, the occupancy rate for Hakone Hotels (Ryokans) is constantly very high.
In order to allow Japanese Domestic Travelers to also experience the Hot Springs of Hakone, many Ryokan Accommodation locations are now limiting the booking of Overseas Visitors to the weekdays. This allows the Japanese Travelers to reach and stay in Hakone on the weekends.
