Arrive into the Gateway of Japan, the Modern Metropolis of Tokyo City. Travel from Tokyo to Hiroshima and be a little academic and learn how Hiroshima rebuilt itself after the Atomic Bomb. A few archive museums, a few castles and a whole lot of History.
Day One – Arrive into Tokyo

Lined up with New York, London and Paris, you will arrive into Tokyo, one of the largest Cities in the World. Spend your first 3 nights in one of the leading technological locations of the World. Have an English Speaking Assistant meet you at the airport and escort you to your accommodation using the public transportation. Arrive at your accommodation and use the rest of the day to walk the local area.

Day Two – Tokyo Sightseeing
Full Day Tokyo Sightseeing
Today you will be introduced to Tokyo the largest City in Japan with an English Speaking Guide and using the Public Transportation for a Full Day. Start the day with a walk in the Outer Markets of Tsukiji, the largest Fish Market in the World. A chance to nibble on some of the freshest seafood possible. Continue on to Tokyo’s oldest Temple, the Asakusa Temple along with all the shops that line the main path to the Temple. You can arrive into the Asakusa area by a short cruise which will let you see Tokyo from the waterways. Close by is the Tokyo Sky Tree and be treated to panorama views from the Tembo Galleria and Tembo Deck. On a fine day, Mt Fuji can be seen extremely clearly. You may like to finish the day with a walk through Ueno Park which is home to several great museums and galleries.

Day Three – Free at Leisure
Exploration Awaits
Today can be a day free at leisure to explore what is basically the largest City in the World by yourselves. (Sounds daunting, but the Guide from yesterday will advise directions). It may be great to start the day with a walk around the Tokyo Imperial Palace Gardens. Also be overwhelmed with a visit to the younger generation areas such as Harajuku and Takeshita Street. This is where trends are created, and it will definitely open any sleepy eyes. Next to the Harajuku Station is also the entrance to the important and most visit shrine in Tokyo, the Meiji Shrine. Consider visiting Shibuya for the famous scrambled crossing which has 2000 people crossing it each time the lights change. You may like to book a time at the TeamLab art experience of finish the day in Akihabara. Akihabara is Japan’s electric town and also the epicenter of Otaku Culture, Anime and offbeats cafes like the maid cafes and animal cafes.

day 4 – TOKYO TO hiroshima
Board the high speed and comfortable Bullet Train
Meet an English Speaking Assistant
at the Hotel Lobby and transfer to Tokyo Station. Board the Shinkansen (Bullet) Train
bound for Hiroshima City. Hiroshima is approx. 4 hours and 560 miles (890 km) from Tokyo. Arrive at Hiroshima Station and walk to your Hotel which can be in walking distance. If you feel you would like to see as much as Hiroshima
as possible, you may like to walk the local streets. With a 20 minute span, you can walk to the Hiroshima Castle and also the popular and beautiful Shukkeien Gardens which have flowers blooming all year round. Tonight also
may be the night you walk central Hiroshima and stumble upon (or are told by your travel specialist) a certain building that is very local and every floor is full of Okonomiyaki Pizza Style stores.

Day five – hiroshima Sightseeing
Meet Modern History
Meet your passionate English Speaking Guide at your Hotel Lobby
and by using the Public Transportation enjoy Hiroshima Sightseeing. This
will be an educational portion of your tour. See the Atomic Bomb Dome and peace park and take at least an hour and half to see the Archive Museum which may change you views on so many things. On the morning of 06 August in
1945, at some 3500 feet above the ground, the infamous Atomic Bomb exploded causing mass damage to the City of Hiroshima and its residents. Only 4 years later after the black rain and residual radiation had subsided Hiroshima began
to reconstruct itself, first with the Peace Park.
Use the local trains and a short ferry ride to the picturesque island of Miyajima. Itsukushima Shrine, a National Treasure was registered as a World Heritage site in 1996. The three deities of Itsukushima Shrine were born when
Amaterasu Omikami (Goddess of Sun) and her Brother Susano-no-Mikoto made a pledge Celestial Plain using a jewel and sword. See the large Red Torii Gate in the bay and if the tide is out, walk through the Torii Gate. The gate is sustained by its own weight only. The many Japanese Deer may follow you around the island. Miyajima is famous for Oysters, so while in Hiroshima, try an oyster also.

day six – hiroshima to osaka
The Perfect Stop Over
Check out for your Hotel and transfer to Hiroshima Station by own. Your ultimate destination for today will be Osaka City, Japan’s second largest Metropolis. However, while in Japan, stop of at the most famous Castle in all Japan, the Himeji Castle. Board the Shinkansen (Bullet) Train bound for Himeji City, and with in 1 hour, you will arrive at Himeji City and meet your English Speaking Guide at the Shinkansen (Bullet) Train platform. Himeji Castle is also known as the White Heron Castle and is both a Japanese National Treasure and a World Heritage site. Its status as one of Japan’s 12 remaining original castles makes this fortress a must for anyone interested the history of Japan. The first fortifications built on the site were completed in the 1400s, and were gradually enlarged over the centuries by the various clans who ruled over the region. The castle complex as it survives today was completed in 1609. It has never been destroyed by War, Fire or earthquakes making it not only an icon of Himeji, but also for Japan. A true masterpiece of architecture and the Castle’s elegance can be experienced in any season. Next to Himeji Castle, are the Kokoen Gardens a great complement to Himeji castle. Return to Himeji Castle, and board the Shinkansen (Bullet) Train bound for Osaka City with your Guide. Arrive at Osaka Station and transfer to your Hotel.

day seven – osaka sightseeing
Vibrant and Foodie Osaka
Meet your English Speaking Guide at your Hotel Lobby and by using the Public Transportation enjoy a Full Day of Osaka City sightseeing. Start your day with the Osaka Station area and see the mass underground maze like shopping area as well as the Umekita Park area. Continue on to the Osaka Castle and grounds. Here you can see Osaka’s most prominent landmark and belies bloody power struggles leading up to the 1603 foundation of the Edo era. Continue on to South Osaka to the vibrant Shinsai-bashi shopping arcade and canal area. Walk through a very retro like area called Shin-Sekai that hasn’t really changed since the end of World War 2. The Tsutenkaku Tower if the icon of Osaka and now some 70 years old. Throughout the Dotonbori and Shin Sekai areas, there is so much local soul food of Osaka to discover. This is a powerful food culture and anyone that is interested in food needs to see. Maybe one of the popular Okonomiyaki Japanese style Pizza locations would be great for a new dive into Japan’s food scene.

day eight – transfer from osaka to kyoto
Enter the Cultural Capitol of Japan
Meet with your English Speaking Guide at the Hotel Lobby and transfer to Kyoto by the Local Trains. (Kyoto is only 35 minutes by the JR Local Train from Osaka). Upon arrival into Kyoto, enjoy some of what Kyoto has to offer. Visit the oldest Temple and gateway to Kyoto. It has been in the same location for over 1200 years. This temple is an art form in itself with the largest 5 storied pagoda in all of Japan. The Buddha statues you see in the 2 halls also date back some 1200 years. Listen to the Guide’s interesting stories of this temple which have cultivated Kyoto over the years. Continue on to the east side of Kyoto and visit the World Heritage Registered Site of Kiyomizu-dera or Temple. The Kiyomizu Temple is a must see and if architecture is of interest, this Temple has to be seen as it is on the built on the side of a hill and uses not one single nail in it’s creation. The Kiyomizu Temple will take you through the traditional alleys of Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka and on to the Gion area which is where the Geiko and Maiko still walk to and from tea houses today.

day nine – kyoto sightseeing
Icons of Kyoto
Meet your English Speaking Guide at your Hotel Lobby and by using the Public Transportation enjoy a Full Day of Kyoto City sightseeing. The Guide will take you to the popular Arashiyama area. This is where you will see the famous Bamboo Grove. Listen to how fast the bamboo grows. Continue over the Togetsukyo Bridge and walk approx. 20 minutes up the mountain to the Iwata Monkey Park. Here it will be you in the cage when feeding the 120 + Japanese Macaque Monkey. Leave Arashiyama area behind and continue to the Golden Pavilion. This is a must see, and you can see what happens when you have all the power you can imagine. However, listen to the meanings and logic of why this structure was built. Return to central Kyoto, and finish the day walking the Nishiki Markets which are called the “kitchen of Kyoto” and have sustained the Kyoto people for over 400 years.

Make the Most of your Stay
Today is a Free Day at Leisure to Explore Kyoto to surrounding areas by own. You still have not been to the Fushimi Inari shrine, with thousands of bright red Torii gates, and also is the headquarters for all 30000 Inari Shrines
of Japan. Or you may like to visit the Silver Pavilion and walk the Philosopher’s path. Alternatively, the Nijo Castle will offer more on Kyoto and Japan7s history and the Kyoto Imperial Palace have some impressive gardens to view.
If you prefer to stretch your legs and want to get out of central Kyoto, you may like to visit the City of Nara. Take the day to visit Nara to see the largest Buddha Statue in the World which is at the Todaiji Temple. Todaiji Temple
is the largest wooden structure in the World, and also houses the largest Buddha Statue in Japan, the healing Buddha. Feel History and be spellbound with the sheer size. Walk through the 1600 acre Nara park which is home to over
1300 sacred Deer. (Approx. 1 hour from Kyoto Station).

Day twelve – From Kyoto to Tokyo and on to the Airport
Take your thousands of photos back home
Check out of your Kyoto Hotel and proceed to the Kyoto Station with an English Speaking Assistant . You can board a mid morning Shinkansen (Bullet) Train bound for Tokyo. After arriving in Tokyo meet with your English Speaking Assistant who will take you to Narita (NRT) or Haneda (HND) Airport depending on your departing flight. Arrive at Narita (NRT) or Haneda (HND) Airport and taking your many hundreds of new memories and hundreds of photos, proceed to the Check in counter to prepare for your homebound flight.
