You cannot avoid the Big Cities entirely as usually that is where the Airport exists. However, a tour like this, lets you see the cities to a certain extent, but also experience the rural and natural environment of Japan. If you are not a big “City fan”, and want be active while taking in the natural beauty of Japan, this could be the tour for you.

Day One (Osaka)

Welcome to Japan! If your flight arrives into Tokyo, you will be met by your English Speaking Guide at the arrival lobby, and then taken to Tokyo Station to board your First Bullet Train to Osaka. If your flight arrives into Kansai International Airport (Osaka), you will transfer to your Osaka City hotel with your English Speaking Guide.

Day Two (Osaka)

Today you will be introduced to Osaka, Japan’s 2nd largest City. More relaxed than Tokyo, you will instantly feel the friendly and active vibe from the residents. View the Osaka Castle which who’s creator wanted to show his power, so covered the castle with gold flakes. The Dotonbori canal area and Shinsaibashi are also a hit with overseas guests as you can see so much soul food here and see how the younger generation spend their free time.

Day Three (Osaka – Himeji – Osaka)

Today’s itinerary includes a Full Sightseeing of Himeji City. Himeji is home to the Himeji Castle which was one of the first Unesco World Heritage Sites in Japan. With Experience Japan you won’t stop here, you then will go to a semi-exclusive Temple Complex located on the top of a mountain. The only way to get there is by Gondola. Day Four (Osaka – Kyoto)

Today you will travel from Osaka to Kyoto by private Car. Travel inland to a very Historic town called Miyama. Miyama is now protected by the government as there are 38 Thatched Roof houses here which cannot be seen in too many other locations in Japan. There are only 3 people in the whole of Japan who can repair these amazing rooftops. You will be staying in one of these Traditional Thatched Roof houses tonight and will be treated to great countryside hospitality.

Day Five (Kyoto)

A full day in the wonderful nature of Miyama. Today you will join a trekking tour in Miyama which will take you into the surrounding mountains. These trekking tours are only operated in the non-winter months, and you get the chance to see many different flora and fauna. Enjoy a picnic lunch on your trek, and then soak in the bath at the end of the hike. Look out for the Deer, Monkeys and other animals.

Day Six (Kyoto)

Transfer from Miyama to Kyoto today with an English Speaking Guide, En-route you will be taken to the most visited Shrine in Japan, The Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. 2017, chosen again as the top attraction in Japan by Trip Advisor, you too will be able to see the thousands of Red Torii Gates here. Also the head of all the Inari Shrines in Japan, people come here to pray for health and wealth of their company. Your accommodation will be in Kyoto tonight. Day Seven (Kyoto)

Enjoy a full day in Kyoto visiting Kinkaku-ji Temple (= Golden Pavilion), Ryoan-ji Temple with its rock garden Nanzen-ji Temple, and then head to central Kyoto and stroll Nishiki-koji Food Market which has been the Kitchen of Kyoto for 400 years. Day Eight (Kyoto – Lake Kawaguchi)

Transfer to Odawara Station from Kyoto by a Bullet Train. Once in Odawara meet with an English Speaking Guide and transfer to Lake Kawaguchi by Private Car (or Local Bus if you prefer). Settle into your Lake Kawaguchi Accommodation which will offer you magnificent views of the Majestic Mt Fuji which is only 30 km away. A stay in a Japanese Style Inn is often popular.

Day Nine (Lake Kawaguchi)

From Lake Kawaguchi, take a Hiking bus to Mt Fuji, and then walk to your hearts content on Mt Fuji which is known as one of the top 10 mountains in the World to climb. *Please note that the Hiking season at Mt Fuji only starts from 01 July each year. For the non-hiking seasons, you can come to the 5th camp station and see the mountain up close, or we suggest hiking courses in Lake Kawaguchi with Mt Fuji in the background as an alternate option. Day Ten (Lake Kawaguchi – Tokyo)

After your Hotel check out, you will transfer to Mishima Station by an Express Bus and then take the Bullet train to Tokyo. Upon arrival you can see some Tokyo Sights such as Asakusa Temple, Tokyo Sky Tree, The Imperial Palace and the up-market Ginza district. Or if you prefer Tokyo just to be the gateway from Japan, you can spend more time in the natural environment of Lake Kawaguchi and then take a later train. Tonight’s accommodation will be in Tokyo City.

Day Eleven (Tokyo Airport)

After your Hotel check out, it only remains for you to be transferred to the Airport to connect you with your home-bound flight. We will miss you, but know that you will be leaving with some amazing memories. You will now have accomplished a lot, and as the contents are tailor-made you would have just experienced the Real Japan.
