Arakurayama Sengen Park, Lake Kawaguchi

Lake Kawaguchi (or Kawaguchi-ko), the most easily accessible of the Fuji Five Lakes from Tokyo by Trains and Buses. Not only are there great views of Mt Fuji which is a huge drawing card for Overseas Visitors, but there are incredible Nature walks, Boat rides, Rope-ways and a chance to immerse yourselves in Natural Hot Springs. Renting a bike to ride around the lake also let’s you become one with the local nature.
You can stay in one of the many high quality Japanese Traditional Inns (Ryokan). Located on the lake’s eastern side, Lake Kawaguchi has amazing views of Mt Fuji which is only approx. 30 minutes away. Mt Fuji looks completely different in the evening, compared to the following morning.

Obviously Mt Fuji views can not be guaranteed every day of the Year. There are some months that are more likely to have Mt Fuji visible than others. (February is the easiest to see Mt Fuji).
Generally mornings are better for the Mt Fuji views, and trust us, it is worth waking up that little bit earlier to be greeted by the majestic 3,776 meters (12,389 feet) Mt Fuji.

For the best view of Mt. Fuji, try taking a photo of the stunning scenery at Chureito Pagoda located inside Arakurayama Sengen Park. The pagoda, as shown in the foreground of Mt. Fuji, is quickly becoming a popular photo spot in the Fuji Five Lakes area. Another great photo spot is Tenjoyama Park on the Kachi Kachi Ropeway, located at the southeast corner of the lake.
Whether you want to enjoy a casual stroll around the lake, ride a bike or challenge yourself to hike, the Kawaguchiko area provides ample opportunity. Lake Kawaguchi may also be the perfect location just to relax, soak in the picturesque views and breathe the fresh Mt Fuji air.
