With the influx of Overseas Visitors, many cities in Japan are / will introduce an amended Accommodation Tax from March 2026.
Of course not all details are currently fixed. However, Kyoto City’s accommodation tax will change as below.

| Under 6,000 yen | 200 yen |
| 6,000- 20,000 yen | 400 yen |
| 20,000- 50,000 yen | 1000 yen |
| 50,000 -100,000 yen | 4000 yen |
| Over 100,000 yen | 10,000 yen |
All Accommodation tax is to be paid directly by clients to the Hotel at Check out time.
