It was announced today (30 July) that people who have “status residence” (the qualification to reside in Japan) will be allowed to come back to Japan from 05 August 2020. This includes many students that were asked by their home countries to leave Japan at the start of Covid-19.
There are requirements attached to coming back to Japan, and these include the following. People with “status residence” must take a PCR test with in 72 hours before departing their own country, and the result must be negative. After arrival into Japan, people also must go into solitary quarantine for 14 days.
However, this is a great step in to right direction for getting Overseas Visitors back on to Japan soil.
