After approx. 1 month of being closed due to thermal activity, the popular Ohwakudani area of Hakone has reopened today. For the next little while, the valley will only be open from Dawn to Dusk (5 pm).
It is expected also, that the Hakone Ropeway that links Sounzan Station to Ohwakudani will also reopen in the next few weeks.
Along with the cancellation of the State of Emergency in Japan, the Hakone area will soon once more become a popular destination for internal travelers as well as overseas visitors once travel restrictions are eased.
