While the Japan borders are still currently only open to business trips and students who study abroad, there is now talk about having trial tests with foreign visitors with sightseeing as their purpose.
These tests will happen in April and May 2022, and will not include the Golden Week Holiday period (late April/early May).
If these trials go well, the Government then will decide on when sightseeing tourists can return to Japan.
This is only a quick update, but can advise that Japan is heading in the right direction.
