Japan in general is progressing very well against the Delta Variant of Covid19. As of 29 November, Japan as a whole had only 82 cases reported, and this number has been decreasing constantly over the last month or so.
However, with the new variant, Omicron, the Japanese Government has announced that the Japanese borders will be closed for 1 month from tomorrow, 1 December.
This excludes Japanese citizens and Foreigners that have Permanent residence of other visas that allow them to stay in Japan. However, these people also must self isolate for 10 days once back in Japan.
